WHERE: Rattlesnake Mountain Preserve Trailhead

DESCRIPTION: 6 Hour/10 Mile/11k/5k Trail Run
5k with 450 ft gain Is a gentle out and back uphill and downhill trail up Aster Gully.
11k with 1400 ft gain is an uphill then downhill trail loop showcasing the beauty of the Shrub Steppe and Rattlesnake Mountain(Laliik). Includes a very tough ascent and descent of Rattlesnake Arm from mile 3.75 – 4.65 which ascends 660 feet over 0.43 miles. This portion is called The Mountain Goat Challenge.
10 Mile with 1400 ft gain is a trail run that winds through the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve showcasing the beauty of a relatively untouched region of Shrub Steppe with amazing views of Rattlesnake Mountain(Laliik) and the Columbia River Basin. This is a very runnable course.

6 Hour is the 11k Course with 6.5 Miles with 1400 ft gain each loop. Start at 6 AM with the sun and do as many loops as you can until noon. Participants must be participating in the course and finished by noon in order to earn the Laliik 6 Hour Finisher Sweatshirt. There will be one male and one female winner at the end. If participants have the same amount of loops finished, it comes down to who fnishes first on the last lap. If a participant cant finish an entire loop but still has time left before noon they can do Mini Goat Out and Backs, Half Mile Out and Half Mile Back up 200 ft. They can do this up to 5 times which equals 5 Miles. There will be an aid station at the start for participants to fuel up each loop.

REGISTRATION: $25 for 5k, $35 for 11k, $60 for 25k, $90 for 6 Hour until December 31st.
Price increase January 1st - $35 for 5k, $45 for 11k, $70 for 10 Mile, $100 for 6 Hour.
Pre-registration Closes Thursday February 26th.
T-Shirts are included with 10 Mile pre-registration but for 6 Hour,11k, & 5k they are an additional $30 with pre-registration. Day of Registration: $70 for 10 Mile(no shirt),$45 for 11k, and $35 for 5k. No Day of Registration for the 6 Hour event.

PACKET PICK UP: Packet Pickup and Day of Registration at Tri-Cities Food Co-op on Friday March 6th from 3-5 PM and at Race Start at Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead on Saturday March 7th starting at 6:30 AM.
​
REASON: This a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Series put on by Runners of the Sage – with the mission to encourage more active and healthy lifestyles and its a fundraiser for the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve.
​
GEAR: Weather can be unpredictable this time of year so come prepared and ready for rain/sun/wind/or snow. This is a cupless race so bring your own water bottle to fill up at aid stations. We will some goodies at two different aid stations.

COST/MERCHANDISE:
Very comfortable Tri-Blend Bella Canvas shirts are an additional $30 with pre-registration for 6 Hour, 11k, & 5k participants. They come in unisex sizes. The 10 Mile participants shirts are included with their pre-registration.

AWARDS/PRIZES:
All participants will receive a custom finisher medal. Awards for Overall Top 3 Male and Female.

A cash prize of $100 will be given to any new course record for the 5k, 11k, 10 Mile, and 6 Hour Courses.

PARKING: Come early to grab a parking spot at the trailhead. Overflow parking will be on the shoulder of 225. This highway isn’t very busy but does have some traffic so be careful walking to the race start. Please Carpool if possible!
​
AID STATIONS: This is a cupless race to minimize waster. Please bring your own water bottle/cup to fill up.
5k- There will be water at the turnaround.
11k - At Mile 2.5 there will be water. At Mile 3.5 & 4.5 (bottom of the goat) there will be water, peanut m&ms, and gummy fruit snacks.
